Cinderella’s Fairy Godmother turned her simple life into a true fairy tale! With just a wave of her wand, she was able to transform Cinderella’s pumpkin into a carriage, mice into coachmen, and even turned her tattered rags into an enchanted ball gown!
Now, you can use Cinderella’s step-by-step tutorial and the help of an adult to make your very own magic wand!
Step One: Gather your materials.
You will need:
- 1 wooden dowel
- 4 sheets of colored tissue paper
- 1 pipe cleaner
- Hot glue gun
- Glitter glue (or loose glitter and a glue stick)
- Assorted ribbons
Step Two: Take each sheet of tissue paper and cut it into thirds. You should now have 12 pieces of equally sized tissue paper.
Step Three: Using glitter glue and/or markers, decorate the tissue paper however you would like – especially the edges! They will show up the most once you turn your tissue paper into a pouf!
Step Four: Once any artwork on the tissue paper has dried, stack sheets on top of each other and fold accordian style.
Step Five: Cut your pipe cleaner in half and wrap it around the folded tissue paper, careful to tuck in any sharp edges. Using scissors, trim the ends of the tissue paper so that the stack has curved edges.
Step Six: Carefully lift each layer of tissue paper, fluffing it towards the middle. You now have the colorful pouf topper for your wand completed!
Step Seven: With the help of an adult, use hot glue to carefully attach the pouf to the top of the wooden dowel.
Step Eight: Decorate the dowel with markers or glitter glue and tie on assorted ribbons of your choosing. Ask your craft buddy to read you a favorite book while you wait for the glue to dry!
Step Nine: Poof! Your wand is complete and ready for you to use! This is the perfect accessory for every little princess!
Magic wands can be plenty of fun for little princesses, but the most powerful magic of all is in following your dreams. Just like Cinderella says, “If you keep on believing, the dreams that you wish will come true.”
And always remember – just like your own Fairy Godmother, make sure to use your magic wand for good!
